For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Psalm 117

Lesson: (Delve deeper into the Word and into the sermon using open-ended questions)
To the Grace Place on this centennial anniversary, oh, how God has blessed us.  Oh, how He loves us.  We have been on the mountaintop and we have been in the pit.  God has been with us through every high and every low.  Our challenge is to be faithful for a hundred years to come in reaching our community for Christ with a grateful heart.  “If your life inter-sects with Jesus, He will not leave you in the same place.  Go to where Jesus calls you to go and He will meet you there.”  Rev. Jim Lyon

When have you seen God at work at the Grace Place?
What are the Grace Place’s strengths?
What are our weaknesses?
What challenges do you think we will face in the next 100 years?
How can we faithfully prepare for the future of the church?
What are the characteristics of a growing church?
How can you contribute to the growth of the church?

Prayer: (Share each other’s burdens, become a community of believers)

I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS: Tough Love

Icebreaker: What is your favorite Christmas movie? What is your favorite Christmas movie quote? Overview: In the Christmas classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” angel Clarence Odbody is forced to lovingly deliver some tough love when George wishes he had never been born. Clarence grants his wish lamenting that there must be an easier way to get his wings. After George has a frightening experience of what life would have been like had he never been born, Clarence says, “ Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?” In the end, George realizes how wonderful his life truly is despite its difficulties. Truth without love is brutality, and love without truth is hypocrisy.   -- Warren W. Wiersbe God loved us so much that He sent His Son as the Baby Jesus to redeem us. He has placed preachers, teachers and a church in our lives to give us direction so we can mature in our faith. He disciplines us wi...
