Fellowship: (Break bread with your community, share life from last week, announcements for next week)

Icebreaker: (Get to know your fellow believers a little bit better using this week’s topic
What activities do you participate in with friends?
Why is it important to interact with other people?
How do these activities benefit you?

Scripture: (Read the word together – use different readers, different versions, just read it)
James 5:7-20

Lesson: (Delve deeper into the Word and into the sermon using open-ended questions)
A friend from my local writing group died last week.  It was an honor to have known him and enjoyed his special gift of fiction writing.  How we need friends with whom we can share interests, beliefs and the cares of life.  A community of believers can support us through the rough patches until the Lord’s return.

Why is patience so hard?
What made waiting for Jesus’ return particularly hard in Biblical times?
How anxious are you for the Lord’s return?
Why does a lack of patience lead to grumbling?
What suffering do we encounter in the name of Christ?
How do we support one another in the Body of Christ?
What things do you enjoy doing with other believers?
What are the six activities from the sermon that we do together?
Pray
Sing
Anoint
Confess
Restore
Rejoice!

Prayer: (Share each other’s burdens, become a community of believers)
