The following questions are to be used as a study aid for the
sermon preached by Rev. Tommy Dove at the Grace Place on Sunday, March 22,
2015. To get the most from these
questions, view the service at o http://www.graceplace.us and click on
“Streaming.” From there you can watch or
listen to the service first.
These questions can be used in your private Bible study during
the week or as the topic for a small group study. For more information on
hosting or leading a small group study, click on "GP Small Groups"

Fellowship: (Break bread with your community, share life from
last week, announcements for next week)
Icebreaker: (Get to know your fellow believers a little bit
better using this week’s topic)
How’s your March Madness bracket?
How much time is spent at your work/school/home on basketball?
What other distracts take up our time?
Scripture: (Read the word together – use different readers,
different versions, just read it)
Luke 10:25-37
Lesson: (Delve deeper into the Word and into the sermon using
open-ended questions)
A news report out
last week estimates the hourly wages lost to unproductive or distracted workers
during the March college basketball tournament are $1.9 billion! At a local medical facility, the workers were
talking with each other about their brackets and who lost or won that day
instead of focusing on the task at hand – caring for their patients. The world wants to see us care about more
than sports or the latest electronic watches.
People who need Jesus want to know we care about them.
What kind of person was the Good Samaritan?
What do we know about the victim?
With whom do you relate in the story of the Good Samaritan?
What needs are we passing each day?
Who needs us the most in our community?
Why does it matter whether we get involved?
How do we decide who to help?
How do you balance compassion with ability to help?
When (or) is it appropriate to not get involved?
Prayer: (Share
each other’s burdens, become a community of believers)
As we countdown to
Easter, begin to pray for specific people who need to find Jesus.
