The following questions are to be used as a study aid for the
sermon preached by Rev. Tommy Dove at the Grace Place on Sunday, May 3,
2015. To get the most from these
questions, view the service at o http://www.graceplace.us and click on

Fellowship: (Break bread with your community, share life from
last week, announcements for next week)
Icebreaker: (Get to know your fellow believers a little bit better
using this week’s topic)
Prince William and the
Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to their baby daughter on Saturday. As we await her royal name, generate your own
royal name.
Your first name, grandparent’s
first name, mother’s maiden name, your last name, “Duke/Duchess of” Birthplace.
How do you feel about your real name?
What is the importance of a name to a child?
Footnote:
In the unlikely event she were ever to assume the throne and chose to
keep her first given name, she would become "Her Majesty Charlotte the
first, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland, and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the
Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith" -- but for now HRH Princess Charlotte
Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge will do very nicely indeed.
Scripture: (Read the word together – use different readers,
different versions, just read it)
Ephesians 6:4, Proverbs 22:15, 2 Timothy 1:5
Lesson: (Delve deeper into the Word and into the sermon using
open-ended questions)
We all do stupid
things sometimes. It is good to have
someone who comes along side us to not only point out the error of our ways but
to also point us in the right Way.
Dig a little deeper into the three key words from this
week’s three scriptures:
Ephesians 6:4: Exasperate
– more dangerous than to annoy. It is to
anger, infuriate or enrage.
Proverbs 22:15: Folly
– more serious than fun. It is
foolishness, recklessness or irresponsibility.
2 Timothy 1:5: Faith
– stronger than hope. It is belief,
trust and loyalty.
What is our responsibility to guide others along the
path?
What makes a good listener?
How does God discipline His children?
Why does discipline make us stronger? (Hebrews 12:11)
How important is a strong Christian guide in your life?
Who has been that to you?
How does your small group help you grow?
Prayer: (Share
each other’s burdens, become a community of believers)
