Fellowship: (Break bread with your community, share life from
last week, announcements for next week)
Icebreaker: (Get to know your fellow believers a little bit
better using this week’s topic)
What things do/did you and your mother do together?
What crazy things did your family do together?
What is a normal day like for you?
Scripture: (Read the word together – use different readers,
different versions, just read it)
Romans 12:1-2; 1 Peter 1:13-16
Lesson: (Delve deeper into the Word and into the sermon using
open-ended questions)
Our society values
normality. Tolerance of things or people
who are different is taught. What is
normal anyway? The dictionary says it is
conforming to the standard; usual; not abnormal; regular or natural. As Christians we are warned not to be normal
but be abnormal.
What is the standard to which the world is striving to
conform?
What is the standard to which we as Christians are
striving to conform?
If everyone does it, does that make it “normal?”
What makes a person “abnormal?”
Why does “normal” change over time?
Why do we want to be normal?
What is a normal family?
Do we really want “normal” families?
How can we help families be normal?
Prayer: (Share
each other’s burdens, become a community of believers)
