Fellowship: (Break bread with your community, share life from
last week, announcements for next week)
Icebreaker: (Get to know your fellow believers a little bit
better using this week’s topic)
What is planted in your garden?
How’s your grass growing?
If you could grow one fruit, what would it be?
Scripture: (Read the word together – use different readers,
different versions, just read it)
Isaiah 40:1-8, Matthew 7:13-14, Proverbs 22:28
Lesson: (Delve deeper into the Word and into the sermon using
open-ended questions)
Red petunias were
planted in the pots along the deck railing this year. The warm sun of early May caused them to
bloom profusely. But, the daily rains of
the past week have taken a toll on the delicate blooms. The once vibrant, red flowers are now scared
and broken. They need the sun to recover
from the storm. Thankfully, our God
stands with us forever!
Why did Israel need a redeemer?
Why do we need a redeemer?
What picture does the word “comfort” bring to your mind?
How does Jesus bring you comfort?
What are some “boundary stones” in your life?
Who set up these “stones” for you to follow?
Why is there only one way to eternal life?
Prayer: (Share
each other’s burdens, become a community of believers)
