Icebreaker:
When did you learn to ride a bicycle?
When did you learn to swim?
Why is faith required to learn these skills?

Scripture:
Hebrews 11:1-12

Lesson:
There are many things in life we just take for granted:  oxygen, gravity, light, warmth.  We don’t consider it faith to “believe” in oxygen but yet our faith in oxygen sustains us.  To the Christian, our faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, sustains us until we someday receive the promised eternal home.

How do you define faith?
Why is faith absolutely necessary for life in general?
Why is faith absolutely necessary for eternal life?
Name the heroes of faith from Chapter 11.
What characteristics did these heroes of faith have in common?
How does obedience strengthen faith?
Who has been your example of faith and why?
Complete this sentence:  By faith your name was___________________________.
