The following questions are to be used as a study aid for the sermon
preached by Pastor Tommy Dove at the Grace Place on Sunday, September 13,
2015. To get the most from these
questions, view the service at http://www.graceplace.us and click on
“Streaming.” From there you can watch or
listen to the service first.
These questions can be used in your private Bible study during the week or as the topic for a small group study. For more information on hosting or leading a small group study, click on "GP Small Groups" under "GP Ministries" at www.graceplace.us.Fellowship: (Break bread with your community, share life from the week, upcoming events)
Icebreaker: (Get to know your fellow believers a little bit better using this week’s topic)
Who is/was the oldest person you ever knew?
How old is/was your oldest relative?
How do you plan to celebrate your 100th birthday?
Scripture: (Read the word together – use different readers, different versions, just read it)
1 Corinthians 3:1-22
Lesson: (Delve deeper into the word and into the sermon using open-ended questions)
In reading the Bible through this year, we have been reminded of the importance of the Temple of God to the Israelites. They had careful instructions as to its building, care and use. Many times, over and over, they did not follow these instructions and the Temple fell into a state of disrepair that mirrored the hearts of the Israelite people. We are instructed in the care of our Temple of God and sometimes are just as guilty of neglect.
Where is the Temple of God?
How are we building the Temple?
What are symptoms of immaturity?
How does immaturity affect individuals?
How does immaturity affect the church?
Why does maturity matter?
What is our responsibility in believer’s maturation?
What part do you play in it?
What difference will all this make in 100 years?
Prayer: (Share burdens as a community of believers)
