Lesson:
When the weather gets threatening,
we burrow into the safety of our homes.
We realize how fragile our bodies are when faced with sub-zero wind
chills and dangerous roadways. As
Christians we realize that our physical body is temporary and fleeting in light
of God’s promise of eternal life. Let’s
get real! Our power comes from God’s
warm and uplifting spirit living inside us despite what is swirling around us
on the outside.
What was so “new” about the way the disciples taught?
What kind of dangers were they facing?
What dangers do we face when we get real with God?
What situations make people want to give up on God?
Where do we get the power to face these challenges?
How does God’s power give you courage?
How do you keep this power renewed?
