GET REAL! Real Purpose

The following questions are to be used as a study aid for the sermon preached by Pastor Tommy Dove at the Grace Place on Sunday, January 3, 2016.  To get the most from these questions, view the service by going to http://www.nashvillechurch.com and clicking on “Streaming.”  From there you can watch or listen to the service first.

These questions can be used in your private Bible study during the week or as the topic for a small group study. For more information on participating a small group study, click on "Life Groups" at the top of www.nashvillechurch.com.

Fellowship:

Icebreaker:
What is one thing you would like to accomplish in 2016?
Why?
What can stop you?

Scripture:
Psalm 139

Lesson:
What is it about a new year that makes us want to start over fresh?  We get an unnatural desire to clean and organize.  Maybe it is that we are sick of looking at the Christmas tree and all those red and green decorations that throws us into cleaning mode.  Even the stores realize our need for clean.  Just look at the ads for “white sales” and organizing products.  Starting over fresh is not a bad thing.  Let’s get real!  Search me, oh God, and guide me to correct the things I need to correct so that I can be right before You.

How does it make you feel that God knows your thoughts?
What comfort do you get from God’s ever presence?
When have you tried to hide from God?
What do you think God thinks about you?
What adjectives does God use to describe you?
How can God’s guidance help you with your 2016 plans?
What things do you need to get real with God about?
