Icebreaker:
If you suddenly inherited one billion dollars, what would you do?
What would you buy?
Where would you go?

Scripture:
Matthew 19:26, Ephesians 3:20-21

Lesson:
Most of the time, we live our lives like we are the children of the poorest family in town when in reality we should be living like our last name is “Gates,” “Walton” or “Zuckerberg.”  We live lives full of possibilities.  We are the children of the Creator of the Universe not the mere creator of Windows, Wal-Mart or Facebook.  Let’s get real!  With our Father, nothing is impossible!

God can do more than ALL humans can ask for or even imagine to ask for.  My husband has always said he loves me more than I love him.  I say that is impossible because I love him the MOST and we all know MOST is more than, well, MORE.  The writer of Ephesians is saying that God is able to do not more than we can imagine but the MOST we can imagine.  Our finite brains cannot imagine the MOST because the MOST is infinite.  (Sort of like my love for my husband.)

How does it feel to be a conduit through which God can work to accomplish the most?

What could you accomplish if the sky was the limit?
What obstacles stand in your way?
What could your congregation do if the sky was the limit?  P.S. The sky is NOT even the limit.
What obstacles stand in the way of your congregation reaching its potential?
What can we do about obstacles?
Facilitator:  Make a list of dreams, obstacles and solutions to share with pastor.
How does it feel to be God’s conduit to accomplish dreams?

I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS: Tough Love

Icebreaker: What is your favorite Christmas movie? What is your favorite Christmas movie quote? Overview: In the Christmas classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” angel Clarence Odbody is forced to lovingly deliver some tough love when George wishes he had never been born. Clarence grants his wish lamenting that there must be an easier way to get his wings. After George has a frightening experience of what life would have been like had he never been born, Clarence says, “ Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?” In the end, George realizes how wonderful his life truly is despite its difficulties. Truth without love is brutality, and love without truth is hypocrisy.   -- Warren W. Wiersbe God loved us so much that He sent His Son as the Baby Jesus to redeem us. He has placed preachers, teachers and a church in our lives to give us direction so we can mature in our faith. He disciplines us wi...
