Icebreaker:
What was your favorite pet?
What was your most unusual pet?
What pet would you like to have?
Scripture:
1 John 4:7-11
Lesson:
My crazy, baby brother says a
person can’t really know real love unless they have loved a dog. Well, I don’t know about that but I do know
that if we don’t love God, we can’t really love each other. We see this exhibited in the actions of lone
assassins whose lack of God’s love drive them to hurt others. When we love God, we love other people, all
people, regardless. . .that’s what love is.
What does love mean to you?
Who is love? (This is the easy
question.)
What does love mean to God?
What are the characteristics of God’s love?
Why is it so amazing that God loves us?
Why is loving others so important to God?
Why does pride have no place in love?
How do we show God’s love to others?
