Fellowship:
Icebreaker:
Tell about a time you had to stand up for right.
How were you treated before?
How were you treated afterwards?
Scripture:
Romans 12:2, Daniel 1:8-21, 3:8-30
Lesson:
When people act
contrary to the way we would, it is hard to understand how we see things so
differently. It is because our minds
have been transformed to the will of God.
Like Daniel, we stand out (or should) from people who are ready to
follow the crowd. They bow down to whomever
is in charge and do whatever is the popular thing. To them, we seem odd and peculiar. When under pressure, do we conform to our
culture or transform it?
Why were Daniel and his friends different?
How were they treated because of their talents?
What caused them to lose favor?
Why didn’t they just “go along to get along?”
When is it appropriate to stand your ground?
Why does it matter that you stand up for right?
How can you expect to be treated when you stand up?
Where is God when things get tough?
