Weekly Warm-up:
What competitive sports or activities have you participated in?
What has been your biggest victory?
What is your favorite professional playoff game?

Weekly Overview:
It has been said that to Christians Easter is our Super Bowl.  That is very true.  Christmas is great.  Who doesn’t love the story of the birth of Jesus?  After all, it is about a baby and gifts!  But Easter is more somber.  Despite what you see on TV, Easter is not about bunnies and candy eggs.  It is about a cross and suffering.  But, praise the Lord, the story doesn’t end with Friday!  Sunday came and the tomb was empty!  Easter Sunday is our victory!

Weekly Discussion Questions:
Read Romans 8:31-39

How do we know that God will always be on our side?
How far did His love go to prove His love?
What difference does it make that Jesus rose from the dead?
What part does Jesus play in our relationship with the Father?
How did Jesus earn the right to plead for us?
As victors, what is our reward?
How can we help others to be victorious?

Group Prayer:
Pray for folks who visited church on Easter.

Pray for ways to share God’s amazing love with others.

I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS: Tough Love

Icebreaker: What is your favorite Christmas movie? What is your favorite Christmas movie quote? Overview: In the Christmas classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” angel Clarence Odbody is forced to lovingly deliver some tough love when George wishes he had never been born. Clarence grants his wish lamenting that there must be an easier way to get his wings. After George has a frightening experience of what life would have been like had he never been born, Clarence says, “ Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?” In the end, George realizes how wonderful his life truly is despite its difficulties. Truth without love is brutality, and love without truth is hypocrisy.   -- Warren W. Wiersbe God loved us so much that He sent His Son as the Baby Jesus to redeem us. He has placed preachers, teachers and a church in our lives to give us direction so we can mature in our faith. He disciplines us wi...
