THE PATIENCE OF JOB -- His Integrity

The following questions can be used as a weekly recap in a small group setting or as a personal study aid for the sermon preached by Lead Pastor Tommy Dove at the Grace Place on Sunday, August 6, 2017.  Past sermons are available offline at www.nashvillechurch.com.  Click on “Media” to view the video.
Weekly Warm-up:
What does it mean to be two-faced?
When have you known someone without integrity?
How did their behavior affect you?

Weekly Overview:
Life was good for Job living in the land of Uz.  He was rich and had a great family.  Everyone in Uz respected and admired Job.  Job feared God and followed all the religious practices but he took it one step farther – he stayed away from all wrong.  Job didn’t want evil anywhere near him or his perfect family.  We may not have the patience of Job but we should strive to have his integrity.
Weekly Discussion Questions:
Read Job 1:1-12

What does it mean to have integrity?
How did his integrity cause him to act?  With family?  Friends? Servants?
How does integrity show up in your everyday life?
How do we know that Job was different than most of God’s followers?
What is the difference between believing in God and believing God?
How do we live differently when we believe God?
What kind of relationship did Job’s children have with God?
What happens when we make compromises in our faith to fit in?

Group Prayer:
Pray for personal integrity.
Pray for congregational integrity.

Pray for this week’s needs.
