Overview:
“I
miss the fresh vegetables,” said the lady at the table. As our American society has changed through
the decades from an agricultural to an industrial and now a service based
society, we have become more and more disconnected from our food and the work
required to produce it. A hundred years
ago if you wanted fresh veggies, you walked out to your garden. Fifty years ago, you would buy locally
produced, fresh veggies from the nearby produce stand. Today, we can buy any “fresh” fruit or
vegetable we desire from anywhere in the world at our local supermarket. We have become lazy when it comes to working
for our food. Hopefully, we have not
become lazy when it comes to working for the Lord. Being a believer requires daily dedication
and hard work!
